If you want to start using My MRI Buddy in your department then follow the instructions below
Build your own MRI Preparation Book
To use the My MRI Buddy App for your MRI department you'll need a copy the Rocket Bear's MRI Adventure book for your own department. For this you can download one of our two template pdf files below. These are identical to our original one here but with the photos and QR codes removed, allowing sites to paste in their own
Template for sites who only want to include photos of their department in the book.
Template for sites who want to include photos and links to videos of their department in the book.
Once you've downloaded your preferred template use a pdf editor to insert photos of you own department into the book (a good free editor for doing this is PDFgear).
If you want to include videos of you department then use the second pdf template file. Host your videos on a video sharing site such as YouTube. QR codes can then be generated linking to your videos and these can be pasted as images into the Rocket Bear book (a good QR code generator site is uniqode)
The teddy bear used in the original Rocket Bear Book was the 100 cm Soft Bear Toy purchased from Argos. The teddy is wearing the Astronaut Costume For Kids purchased from amazon.
Once you've created your own departments rocket bear book you can print off copies to use with patients. We've used Captain Cyan previously and pdf is currently formatted for their printing service.
The booklet will point users to the My MRI Buddy App (which can also be found via the App store and Play store links shown on our My MRI Buddy page)
The VR headset we use with the App is the homido grab. This is made of rubber and plastic and therefore fully wipeable and can be cleaned and are available from some UK online sellers (e.g ebay). Disposable cardboard headsets are also an option. Some games in the app don't require a VR headset
